K.H. A. Wahid Hasyim adalah seorang tokoh yang sangat terkenal dengan pemikiran-pemikirannya, terutama dalam konteks pendidikan modern saat ini. Dalam pemikiranya, penidikan di era revolusi industri 4.0 saat ini perlu dikembangkan secara filosofis agar tujuan pembelajaran semakin berkembang secara dinamis. Oleh karenanya, penulis menelaah bagaimana proses pemikiranya yang selama ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya relevansi Pemikiran Wahid Hasyim dengan era revolusi industri 4.0 Hasil pemikirannya yang terus digunakan untuk kontribusi keilmuan hingga sekarang dan tetap diterapkan terkait dengan pondok pesantren berbasis modern dan IAIN maupun UIN yang terus menerus berkembang pada zaman sekarang ini. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemikiran K.H.Wahid Hasyim mengenai pendidikan Islam adalah suatu terobosan kemajuan pendidikan yang tidak sekedar mengkaji atau mempelajari ilmu-ilmu agama ansih, melainkan ilmu-ilmu umum.
